Where are you now?
Brandeis University, Waltham, MA.
How, if at all, did the Empire help you get there?
Participating in Empire greatly improved my public speaking and critical thinking skills. More importantly, it reinforced the idea of having a competitive edge while at the same time having an incredible time with both my own team and others, in and out of the courtroom. This is something that I value and will carry with me wherever I go.
What’s your favorite Empire moment?
Getting to know other teams outside of the courtroom–whether it meant having dinner and watching Brave with students from Mackie Academy or getting stuck in the hotel with all the teams during Sandy!
If you’ve come back as a volunteer, why have you stay involved with the Empire family?
Being a part of the Empire family is so much fun and gives you the opportunity to get to know so many incredible people from all around the world, I had to come back!
How would you describe the Empire to someone that has never been?
Empire is the once in a lifetime opportunity to not only compete against the best teams in the world but also to get to know so many intelligent, quirky and motivated students from all around the world. It created friendships for me that have resurfaced since, in college and beyond and was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my high school career.
