Mitch became involved with the organization after meeting Justin Matarrese at the University of Miami. Born and raised in Canada, Mitch is a graduate of Queen’s University (Canada) where he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies. Throughout his undergraduate career, Mitch was heavily involved in student government, including being Chair of the Board of Directors of the Alma Mater Society, Inc.—overseeing the strategic and operational interests of the organization’s 16 student services and other assets.
Mitch now works in the United Kingdom where he serves as Special Projects Officer at Queen’s University’s Bader International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic development of programs and new academic projects.
Mitch brings an important international perspective to the Empire Mock Trial team and believes strongly in the learning opportunities that an organization, such as Empire Mock Trial, creates for students of all levels. Whether one intends to pursue formal legal education or not, the skills gleaned through participation in mock trial are widely applicable and beneficial. Mitch looks forward to supporting the mission of Empire Mock Trial and to meeting the bright student competitors who will join our family at this year’s competition.
