Paul began his involvement in Mock Trial over a decade ago in High School where he was a competitor on the Stuyvesant High School Mock Trial and Moot Court teams. There, he competed during his senior year in the NYC championship round against Justin Matarrese’s Tottenville High School.
During college, Paul continued Mock Trial competition at Boston College and began his involvement with the Empire Mock Trial. Paul has been at every Empire since the first, serving in various capacities ranging from dishing out food at lunch to fundraising to Shop Empire.
While not assisting with an Empire tournament, Paul was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany from 2008-2009, a Corps Member with Teach for America in New Orleans from 2009-2011, and then a management consultant with LEK Consulting in New York. After 1.5 years at LEK, Paul decided to return to his passion–education. He is currently the Director of Operations for Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School, a high-performing charter school in Brooklyn.
