The Evolution Continues
Welcome to the Empire Fall Season! This year, like last, we’re featuring two Empire Classic and one Empire Online competition, but you might notice something different. For the first time in Empire history, we are hosting two competitions in the same city. Like many other companies, we are still assessing COVID's short-term and long-term impacts on our work. For 2023, we are thrilled at where we landed and pleased to finally share our schedule with you.
September 22-24
Palmer House
October 11-16
Cyberspace
November 3-6
Hilton Chicago
Which competition will you be attending?
Empire Classic
Our original, in-person competition format – this year in Chicago…twice!
The Perfect Empire City
Over the past two years, we have fallen in love with Chicago as an Empire host city. Its energy, diversity, architecture, cuisine, landmarks, and people have helped to create a wonderful Empire experience for our students. Chicago provides all of the benefits of a big city, but at a lower price point, making the program more accessible for young people. What's more, we've seen the legal community show up for us. Last year, each of our trials featured 3 judges/jurors, while 7 sitting judges volunteered their time.
The World Championship Returns
For most of Empire's history, the World Championship moniker was part-and-parcel with Empire New York. Given that Empire New York is on sabbatical, we have decided to revive the competition name to help you select an Empire Classic competition that fits your needs. The Palmer House's Windy City Challenge (September 22-24) is geared toward lesser experienced teams, while Hilton Chicago's World Championship (November 3-6) is more appropriate for a more experienced team. Teams are free to apply for one or both competitions.
Why Empire Classic?
Empire Online
Born for the pandemic, innovation for the future.
A top-notch online mock trial experience, anchored by Empire's PROcess software. New this year, we're giving teams the option of choosing how they'd like to present in court--together in one room (Empire ONE) or apart (Empire YOU), you decide!
